These have been created to take interactivity in poetry to a new level and I think that they are pretty fun (but somtimes confusing) to play.

Has anyone tried playing these? Does it make poetry more engaging and fun for you?
I also saw some article about poetry and poetry related tasks featured in video games. It seems like an interesting idea to inspire a love of literature in kids who are busy playing games several hours a day. Do you think it would have worked for you if these existed when you were growing up?
I tried playing it.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it works in anyway whatsoever.
It is a OK game, to pass time. Not very stimulating.
Started to get annoying after some time.
I think it would work if there was like a quiz in between the levels in order to force the player to read some of the text in order to find the answer.
If I knew a game like this one (and in Spanish) when I was a kid, my point of view about poetry would be different today. Now that I'm in this course I realized that poetry is still alive and keep evolving into new forms with time :-)
ReplyDeleteIn theory, this sounds great, especially as parents are looking for less violent games for kids. However, I really don't think this will become popular any time soon. It's somewhat boring, and personally, I don't find it fun. Maybe a more polished version, with a few technical tweeks would be best!
ReplyDeleteThis game looked interesting at first but I think its a little too confusing. Maybe if there were more interactions, or things to click.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't very engaged.
I am boring in the sense that I like my poetry line by line and not going in all directions.
But very good post, it was nice to see what people are doing with poetry these days.
Yes, I was also not keen about th stoy telling being kind of all over th place and unfocused. Refena isright in that itcould be an alternative o violent games if it was refined but some o the gaes were just confuing because of the lack of specific instructions.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I posted this because I thought tat the idea is neat. What I like about this is that unlike ordinary poetry set dwn on a page, this has a lot of potential for non linear and spontaneous relationships between words and ideas...it's a lot like in nature, where forms grow in stages and diversify.
I think that they should use you guys to test these games and pay you for it. haha
The concept to create a poetry game is very intriguing and on paper it seems like it could work and would be very educational and stimulating but I think this was just a tad confusing and didnt have a lot of direction to it. Maybe if they do a lot of fine tuning and make it visually appealing rather than scribbles and loud screeching noises it could be a start to an interesting concept. I like how he incorporated the video but unfortunately the video was irrelevant. but besides that good find i enjoyed the entertainment it provided even if it was brief.
